ISLAMABAD, Aug 13 (APP): Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh on Tuesday has stressed upon the need to promote constructive politics for the country’s progress, rather than engaging in negative political tactics.
Talking to PTV News, he said that the primary goal of politics should be addressing public problems and finding solutions.
He said the political instability makes it challenging to solve the country’s economic issues.
The minister also criticized the trend of political parties targeting state institutions for their own gain, saying, “No other country in the world engages in such propaganda against its own institutions for political purposes.”
In response to a question, he said that the government’s priority was to strengthen the economy by creating a supportive environment for the business community.
“We aim to double our exports in the next five years by rebuilding the confidence of both local and foreign investors,” he said.
He said that export activities through ports would be boosted under the government’s effective policies.
