ISLAMABAD, Aug 13 (APP): Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid Tuesday reaffirmed BISP’s commitment to serving marginalized segments of society, regardless of religious affiliation.

She was speaking during a meeting with a delegation of the National Lobbying Delegation for Minority Rights, led by Haroon Sarab Diyal, held here.

She emphasized that there is no registration fee for BISP and that registration is an ongoing process, facilitated through BISP Dynamic Registry Centers.

Senator Khalid informed the delegation that once a family is registered, the eligibility of the woman in need is assessed.

Eligible beneficiaries will receive a confirmation message from 8171, the only official number of BISP. She cautioned against trusting any messages from other numbers, as they are fraudulent.

The delegation requested that BISP coordinate with the minority communities in remote areas to ensure their enrollment in the program.

Senator Rubina Khalid assured her full cooperation and directed BISP staff to take the necessary steps in this regard.
