BEIJING, Aug 14 (APP):The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing on Wednesday marked the 77th Independence Day anniversary with a flag hoisting ceremony.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the raising of the national flag by Ambassador Khalil Hashmi, who was accompanied by embassy officials and a large gathering of the Pakistani community in Beijing.
During the ceremony, messages of felicitation from the president, prime minister, and deputy prime minister/ foreign minister of Pakistan were read aloud. These messages paid glowing tribute to the nation’s struggle for independence under the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, which ultimately led to the creation of Pakistan on August 14, 1947. The messages emphasized the importance of adhering to the ideals of the freedom movement’s leaders, such as selfless dedication and commitment, as essential for the continued development and progress of the country.
In his remarks, Ambassador Khalil Hashmi congratulated the Pakistani community on this momentous occasion and highlighted the crucial role of overseas Pakistanis in contributing to the economic development and prosperity of Pakistan. He urged the community to persist in their active efforts to further strengthen the time-tested bonds of friendship between China and Pakistan.
